VM101: The Introduction Video
Updated: Oct 24, 2019
Here's my first class for Video Marketing 101.
I've been receiving lots of questions from business owners who aren't sure where to start with video. Everyone wants to know how much videos cost and what message they should bring potential clients.
While costs vary, and I’ll be covering that in another video, right now I can definitely offer a suggestion on what message you can offer right away to your potential clients:
The Introduction Video
Just click to watch.
This happens to be a very simply produced low cost video, with no expensive professional video/audio equipment used. I’ve used a Samsung S8 Active, for video and sound recording, and a tripod. Future videos will upgrade the lighting/microphones used, but I just wanted to show you that you can do-it-yourself, if you desire.

I’m Rachel Hardy, owner and lead editor of EyeCatching Edits. I realize a lot of people have questions about where to start with video for their companies. They know they should use video on their website and on social media, but they aren’t sure where to start. This is where I come in.
In this first video, I’m going to tell you a little bit about myself and my company. An introduction, if you will. And this is a great place to start if you’re thinking of doing a video for social media or for potential clients and customers. [on-screen graphic: You can use these videos on your company website, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and LinkedIn.]
The reason you want to do an introduction video is so new clients and customers can get to know more about you and your services, and your goals for them. This is where you start. [on-screen graphic: Highlight who you are. Share your skills. Keep it brief.]
So,for my personal introduction, I want to tell you a bit about myself and my career background.
I grew up in small town Indiana, where I had a strong love for all things TV. From there I moved on to Ball State University, Telecommunications and TV Production. I graduated and went to work as a TV news photographer in Fort Wayne. I moved to the Indianapolis TV market fairly quickly. I left TV news to go into corporate America. I enjoyed producing many different types of video for that company: online videos, TV consumer videos, internal videos with the Executives, and biographies. So, what I’m saying is, I think I can really help you with what you need.
